Después de ser despedido de la Liga AntiVillanos por no haber conseguido
atrapar al malo que amenaza a la humanidad, Gru sufre una importante
crisis de identidad. Pero bastará con que aparezca un misterioso
desconocido y le anuncie que tiene un hermano gemelo, el cual desea por
encima de todo seguir los despreciables pasos de su gemelo Gru, para que
el antiguo villano redescubra lo bien que sienta hacer el mal.
Steve Carell no solo presta su voz a Gru por tercera vez, también dobla a Dru, el hermano gemelo perdido de Gru. Kristen Wiig regresa en el papel de la superespía Lucy, y Trey Parker, premiado por los Emmy, Tony y Grammy, encarna al malísimo Balthazar Bratt, un antiguo niño estrella obsesionado con el personaje televisivo que interpretaba en los años ochenta.
